Happy New Years Eve! December 31, is the day that we reflect on the past year. We close doors that once were open, we finish a good book, we say goodbye to love ones, we welcome little ones to the world, we endure job loss, we accept promotions, we celebrate, we are thankful, we remember and we love. The list can go on! Then we look ahead to what is awaiting us good and bad.
This year I have so much to be thankful for that it could take days to list it all. The few important things I am thankful for are Carl, my family, my friendships, my health, my job and the good bad and ugly of 2011. It is all that makes me who I am.
To me New Years Eve is a special day, besides the obvious of course, but mostly because that four years ago on today’s date is when Carl and I had our first date. We were just chatting about it today. We went to Applebee’s for supper and then we hung out with friends from college. I remember talking about sports and laughing so hard! So today we took time to be thankful for each other and enjoy each other’s company.
We had ran some errands this morning. Carl used his Buckle gift card to get a couple of jeans! (very nice) Then I had to go to the puzzle store. Yes, I did buy another puzzle, we are still trying to finish the Minnesota one! We went to a nice restaurant for lunch and then we went to the movie New Year’s Eve! It was a good movie. Yes, cheesy but not as bad as what we thought. It was interesting because it showed all the experiences and life happenings that people go through and makes you appreciate the ones you love and those around you!
Now we are home. Wine, puzzles, Steak what a great way to ring in the New Year. 🙂 I am making boneless bottom sirloin grill steak, roasted brussel sprouts and potatoes. yum, the gluten free diet isn’t so bad! 🙂
I hope you all have a great New Years. Be safe in what you do.
I hope 2011 was everything you asked for and I hope 2012 gives you everything you want!
With Love,
Blondie! 🙂
