Minnesota Cheese Festival 2012

Last week Sunday Carl and I went to the Minnesota Cheese Festival. I got one of the email coupons in my email, so it was only $15 for both of us to go. I am so glad we went. It was held at the Minnesota State Fair in the International Bazaar. Please read through the link I put above.

It was so busy we maybe waited in line for about 30 mins to get something to drink, but was worth it. I had walked around with two cups of wine, so we didn’t have to wait in line again.

Here are a few of the cheeses we really liked-

Sartori Cheese– A Wisconsin Cheesemaker

We tasted all of their cheeses they had out and they were fantastic. We really liked SarVecchio Parmesan and Extra-Aged Asiago a lot. I haven’t looked for them in the store yet, but will this afternoon when I go.

Shepherd’s Way Farms-Artisan Sheep Milk Cheese– A Minnesota Cheesemaker

We tasted their cheeses and liked the different taste. We really like the Big Woods Blue, so much that we bought a chunk.

Caves of Faribault– A Minnesota Cheesemaker

We buy this brands of Blue Cheese and Gorgonzola Crumbles in the store for our burgers. If you click on the link above it will navigate you through the brands of cheeses.

Ellsworth– A Wisconsin Cheesemaker

They have the best white cheddar cheese curds.

Blaser’s– A Wisconsin Cheesemaker

We bought their Kammerude Smoked Gouda. It was so delicious.

Please check out the links and the cheeses, I would recommend any of them! 🙂
