Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day was not any regular day. I had a few hours to kill in my main office before leaving for my other office. I left around 10:00am and went to start my car and it didn’t start. It didn’t even turn over (insert You have got to be kidding me), one plus of working in a small town; I can call the mechanic and they show up right away. Randomly, I had triggered my security system which in some GM vehicles disables the engine. I had to wait almost 20 minutes for all my systems to reset and my little toes were freezing. I was so nervous because I didn’t know what Carl had planned for the evening and I would through a damper in it if he had to drive an hour to come get me from work. I made it to my other office and went about my day.

Normally, Carl surprises me and doesn’t tell me what he has planned. It is very sweet and fun, but can be hard with my OCD and anxiety with time and scheduling. I was so exhausted by the time I got home at 6:00pm. When I walked through the door, Carl was slaving over the stove and a big bouquet flowers greeted me.

Carl made Pioneer Woman’s mashed potatoes, pan seared garlic asparagus and delicious Filet Mignon with a bacon, scallion gorgonzola topping. Then for dessert he got us two gluten free chocolate cupcakes from the gluten free bakery.

VDayflowers The beautiful Bachman’s flowers, lilies and roses.

VDay1 Our delicious supper.

VDay2 The best chocolate cupcake.

Carl gave me a massage for my gift and I got him a new wallet. Our evening was perfect didn’t have to deal with restaurants and reservations. We stayed in and enjoyed each others company.

Hope you all had a good V-Day as well, I know I did. 🙂
