Fun Finds From the East

This past weekend we were in Eastern Wisconsin for a wedding; when I mean Eastern WI, I mean WAY east. On Saturday morning, I was on a mission to find coffee in the next town over about 10 mins away. As I drove into town, I spotted a farmers market! BINGO. I got my coffee and then made my way to the farmers market and here are the pictures of the fun finds I got. 🙂 I also picked up a few apples from a cute old man and then some ground cherries, a yummy treat that my pa, sister and I love to eat! 🙂  I also picked up two sets of pot holders from the woman with the rugs. I got my mom a rug and pot holders for watching Arie.

This is a beautiful rug that I found.

Here is another great rug, a little smaller size and fun colors.

This is a close up of Carl’s mug from the groom. The other mug is from a restaurant we ate at in Wausau, WI, it was a good souvenir to have of our trip. Red Eye Brewing Co.

Here is a close up of Carl’s homemade apron from the bride. 🙂

After my trip to the farmers market I drove as far east as I could and I hit Lake Michigan. It was so beautiful and the weather was a little chilly but perfect with a jacket and that warm sun. It was a perfect day for our friend’s wedding.

The pictures of Lake Michigan make me want to go back and just sit and maybe read a book. 🙂 It was peaceful and I enjoyed listening to the seagulls.

Laughter is the Best Medicine!

Last week was a little crazy at work and I was doing my best to put out all the fires! On Friday night, I was invited to a going away party for a few former co-workers. I definitely had to think about if I should go or not. After work I just wanted to put my pj’s on and curl up on the couch. Then I thought, I would be the lame grandma who goes to bed earlier on a Friday night. 🙂  I also thought that I would get to see many of my friends and former co-workers.

I decided, I SHOULD GO!

I am glad I went. I saw so many familiar faces and laughed so much. It made me appreciate all of the friendships I have made and all of the wonderful people that I had a chance to work with. Besides, seeing my old co-workers, I ran into a few of my friends outside of work friends. It was so great to catch up with them. We kept saying “We need to hang out more”, I totally agree! It was great to catch up and hear what everyone has been up to in their lives. Many people had new significant others, a few were expecting a baby to their family and many were just living life to the fullest. It was great to be apart of that.

By the way, this old lame grandma didn’t get home until 2:00am. 🙂 Oh, I forgot to share, I had the best Black and Bleu cheeseburger (w/o the bun) at the Wild Onion. Yum!

Friendship and laughter are such an important part of life and happiness!

Love your friends and cherish your laughter together. 🙂

Two Sweet Peas In A Pod!

I couldn’t resist with the title of this post. This post is dedicated to the greatest best  friend I could ask for, Ms. Natasha, yes you! 🙂

Natasha and I go way back. I would like to think we are sisters separated at birth. 🙂  I had met her through one of her family members. We would see each other at holiday gatherings and every once in awhile but hadn’t locked eyes yet! It was during the spring of 2007, when we really started chatting and a real genuine friendship started forming and the rest is history… 🙂  Natasha was in a different state so we only had phone dates and facebook for our contact which was fantastic. When Natasha moved closer our friendship had grown, we have discovered how much we have in common. We could talk to each other about anything from boys, family, life, work, our dreams and our goals we have in life. Her and I grew closer through our passion of wanting to help others and make a difference. I work in the Criminal Justice Field and at the time she worked with Restorative Justice. Match made in heaven right! 🙂 We would talk about similarities, differences and what we would like to change for hours. I am sure our boyfriends thought we were crazy.

Then low and behold, who would have guessed we would work together. I was working in my position for almost 1 1/2 years and Natasha was looking to relocate. I told her to apply with my company, she would be perfect. I had told my supervisor she wouldn’t disappoint and would be one of the best assets to the company. Well, that girl blew them out of the water and they had hired her! Yahoo, now we get to work together. It was so awesome to just be able to walk to each other’s desks and chat and if either of us needed help with work, we were there. 🙂 Sadly, I had taken a different position and no longer work at that company but we talk daily, no worries. 🙂

Natasha and I both have experienced thick and thin in our own lives and it has been a blessing to call upon each other for support, love, laughter and a shoulder to cry on. In between each of those, a glass of wine or two! 🙂  I know we both are so blessed to have wonderful boyfriends who put up with our talking to each other all the time and the non stop giggling! 🙂

Natasha and I had a wonderful girls day together this weekend. We went to a few boutiques, shops and had lunch at Blondie’s Tavern. What a great fix for a crisp fall day. When we were done we came back home and enjoyed a cup of tea and chatted. Sounds like a few grandmas! 🙂

Here are some pictures of the treasures we found!

Two cute scarves! I love fall and winter, great scarf season

cute, comfortable sweater I got!

Thanks for a fun girls day.

And last but not least, because Natasha is so thoughtful, she got me a fun birthday gift. She knows how much I love wine and or anything wine related. She got me a wine chalkboard! 🙂 We hung it right by the entrance to the kitchen!

Ms. Natasha, thank you so much for being a great friend. Our friendship can only get better from here, it is a true treasure I cherish! I am blessed to have you in my life to support, encourage and challenge me to be a better person. You are truly one of a kind!

Continue to smile and give the positive energy to those around you!

Much love to you Natasha!
